Captain's Log

2nd Weekend - May 19-21, 2017

So, Friday, we invited our pastor, Fr. Paul Stewart, to come and bless our boat! The entire day had been cloudy, on and off rain, and actually quite chilly and I almost called him to reschedule. But, we headed out to meet David there and by the time we got to the lake, the skies cleared and the sun came out! After the boat blessing, we headed out for a cruise to Shelburne Pt/Burlington and then turned around and headed back to the dock. We had a nice dinner on board together and thanked the Lord for such a wonderful evening on the Selah Way!

Saturday afternoon we headed back to the marina and met Graham and Jackie there. Of course, DOG was there, too. She has her own life jacket now and did very well with all the other dogs walking down the dock and while under way she did well, too. Had a nice cruise around Converse Bay and down south to Button Bay. Checked out Kingsland Bay and Barn Rock. Beautifully sunny, but cool day out on Lake Champlain.

Sunday after church, we invited some friends to join us. Tim & Brenda Gray and Katie & daughter, Ava met us at PBM and we headed out for a little cruise north, then ended up anchoring for the FIRST TIME in Converse Bay. We enjoyed the peace and quiet with some cocktails and good snacks!  Ended up back at the dock for a quiet dinner in the cabin with Tim & Brenda. Nice times. Also, on Sunday, we ran into some old friends from Waitsfield. Ben & Wendy Bridgewater keep their 32' sailboat at PBM and were working hard to get it ready for sailing. Hope to spend more time with them this summer. WONDERFUL WEEKEND!
